"Scrap, a Moving Target"
Steve Weiner, Executive VP of SA Recycling
Steve Weiner is an attorney duly licensed to practice law in the State of California since 1972. He actively practiced law specializing in Business Law and litigation until 1975, when he joined his family’s enterprise, Weiner
Steel Corporation, and its affiliated companies as General Counsel. He advanced to President in 1983. At that time, Weiner Steel Corporation was the largest industrial scrap dealer in the Western United States. The corporation
owned and operated several entities, including Pacific Erectors Corporation, Western Steel & Tinplate, Inc., and three divisions of Weiner Steel Corporation, which included a brass and bronze foundry all under his management.
The combined annual sales of these companies would equate to more than one billion dollars today. In 1990, the Weiner family sold Weiner Steel Corporation to Huika America Corporation, which subsequently sold the business
to Pacific Coast Recycling (PCR) in 1996. Steve remained President of Weiner Steel Corporation until its acquisition by PCR and then served as Executive Vice President of Pacific Coast Recycling from 1996 through its sale
to SA Recycling in 2008, overseeing the commercial operations of the business. Since 2008, Steve Weiner has held the position of Senior Vice President at SA Recycling, where he is primarily responsible for major industrial
accounts and usable sales. SA Recycling currently operates more than 150 facilities nationwide, making it the largest ferrous and non-ferrous recycling company in the United States.
