This workshop will be an interactive session for current or future leaders to discuss how to look at their company structure and plan for maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Whether there are 5 or 500 employees, a simple review of the key components
of how the business operates and employees communicate can provide a different perspective. In the post-Covid era, with the influence of AI, and changes in how individuals communicate, company leaders face a new set of industry
challenges. This 3-hour workshop will provide real-life, applicable conversation and introduce simple and effective ways to manage, lead, improve job satisfaction, and examine operational challenges with innovative solutions.

Kahn Steel Company Golf Outing
Kahn Steel Company will be hosting an golf outing following our Summer Conference for anyone who may be interested in playing 18 holes at Catamount Ranch and Club in Steamboat Springs Saturday June 6th.
Tee times will begin at Noon.
There is a maximum of 40 slots available for golf on a first come, first serve basis. You can secure your slot when you register for the NASPD Summer Conference. Payment for the round of golf will be paid directly to the golf course.
The drive up from Denver is three hours. Same day commercial air travel is not an option. Air travel out on Sunday is available mainly through United and Southwest.
The cost of golf will be $140 including cart, payable in the pro shop before golf. Kahn Steel will be covering beverages and a light lunch.
Rental clubs are available.
For those interested, Kahn Steel will host a dinner after golf. (No limit on Dinner attendees. Spouses are welcome)
For lodging, we suggest the Steamboat Grand which has a good location on the ski mountain and a free shuttle to downtown and even to Catamount for golf. There are several other great options.
The deadline to be included in golf, dinner, or both is May 1st 2026.

Dr. Sheila A. Nevarez DHA, MSN, ANP-BC
Dedicated administrator, researcher, nurse, and leader who has devoted decades to the underserved, impoverished, and infirmed at all levels of care. She has over 25 years of experience as a CEO in an array of behavioral health settings. She received her
BSN from Salve Regina University on an ROTC scholarship. She was a Distinguished Military Graduate from Providence College and served in the Army Nurse Corp as a trauma/ICU nurse. She graduated from the U.S Army Adult Nurse Practitioner Program
in 1990. She received her MSN from Yale University in 1994 and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2017 after successfully defending/publishing a doctoral dissertation on bullying in nursing.
Sheila has been a nursing professor for ADN and MSN students while remaining an active doctoral mentor. Clinically Sheila has expertise in infectious disease, internal medicine, advanced pharmacology, endocrinology, addiction, and psychiatry. Her administrative
work in behavioral health has included geriatrics, co-occurring, forensics, and addiction/detox in inpatient, outpatient, IOP, PHP, residential, and clinic settings.
She maintains an active RN and Adult Nurse Practitioner licensure. Her consultancy work includes providing expertise for long-term care, ethics, risk management, and leadership. In May 2025 she joined the International Pipe Group as their full-time VP
of Human Resources & Employee Engagement.
Sheila has lived and worked in twelve states. Many of those years were spent in New York City and Pennsylvania. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM in 2015. Her hobbies include triathlons, endurance running, reading, animal rescue work, and musicals. She
plays the piano and is a master gardener.
In 2017 she did her first 70.3 Ironman triathlon. Since then, she has completed seven others and in 2019, at age 54, she finished Ironman 140.6 Arizona. She and her husband are avid triathletes and continue to train together. Her volunteer work continues
with veterans, helping the homeless, and animal rescue.
